Applicants applying for studies at every level at STU that have finished their previous education outside of Slovakia must provide a decision of recognition with their study application.
If you are applying for a Bachelor study program, the process of recognition is handled by the Regional Office of School Administration. Please find more information at the website of the Slovak Ministry of Education.
If you are applying for a Master or Doctoral study program, for the purpose of continuing your studies, the process of recognition is done by the Slovak Ministry of Education (applies to documents issued anywhere outside of Slovakia). Please find more information on the website of the Slovak Ministry of Education. If you're unsure whether this sort of decision will be accepted, please contact the Study Department of the Faculty you applied to and ask.
If you have documents issued by a university in the Czech republic, there is no need for recognition- these documents are equal immediately.
If you require a decision of recognition for other purposes (such as unregulated profession, work, to issue a Blue Card, continuin studies with the requirement of a study program and study field), the process will be done by STU.

1. RECOGNITION OF EDUCATIONAL DOCUMENTS OF HIGHER EDUCATION in accordance with Section 33 of the Act No. 422/2015 Coll. Recognition of Diplomas and the recognition of professional qualifications and amending certain laws (hereinafter referred as the "Act") IS provided on the basis of a comparison of equivalence and similarity of study programmes in the study fields undertaken at a recognized university in another Member of States or in a third country with recognized university in the Slovak Republic, which is responsible for recognition of study programmes in the same field of study or in related fields of study, as stated on diplomas of higher education issued by a foreign university.
