UNESCO Chair project is focusing on the establishment of interdisciplinary education (mainly of higher education) focused on the restoration of architectural heritage. Its out is, among other things, the implementation of new skills supporting optimal procedures of restoration and presentation of architectural heritage into new objects. The main departments of visiting STU organisation have been dealing with education in the field of monuments protection, until recently they have been focused on their specialisation. Within the UNESCO Chair, narrow interdisciplinary cooperation is expected and due to the synergetic effect new skills, knowledge, and overall optimization of the process are expected as well. It is expected to use the results of previous work in the pedagogical, research, and artistic positions. Teachers of the main workplaces are gradually adding also exterior local and foreign collaborators in a form that each activity requires. We use knowledge from the already existing Monument Technology Centre operating alongside the Department of Construction Technology at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the STU in Bratislava. Attention is also paid to chemical technologists in collaboration with the Faculty of Chemical and Food Technologies in Bratislava. Scientific and research cooperation with the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the University of Žilina is also developing along with the practice. In collaboration with the Slovak Chamber of Civil Engineers, attention is paid to construction managers and construction supervisors. The current teaching process is counting on the collaboration of external experts for the postgraduate study: Interdisciplinarity in monuments restoration. Part of this project is a regular organisation of workshops, lectures, and seminars along with the usage of block teaching of students and experts on both detached workplaces using Monument Restoration Technology Centre or other relevant workplaces in the field with close contact with practice.
