ADMISSION PROCESS - BASIC INFORMATION
1. How do I sign up for studies?
To apply for studies, you need to fill out an e-application for the faculty of your choice, and pay an application fee. Admission is open for all levels of study: stuba.sk -> Study -> Admission process -> Pick a faculty
2. Which documents do I need?
Documents must be translated into Slovak by a certified translator.
- For Bachelor studies, you need a high school certificate and other documents listed on each faculty website.
If you have not yet been issued a high school certificate (will be issued in May/June), you can submit it later.
If you do note have any documents from high school, you can sign an affidavit of completed education, and complete a basic knowledge exam (similar to an entrance exam).
- For Master studies, you need a Bachelor degree and other documents listed on each faculty website.
- For PhD. studies, you need a Master degree, and other documents listed on each faculty website.
All foreign students must have a decision of recognition. A decision will be issued by the Slovak Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport (university degree) or Regional Office (high school certificate- scroll to the bottom of the website and download the .pdf file for info in English).

3. Will I pay any study fees?
No. Tuition fees for applicants with the status of an asylum seeker, temporary shelter or additional protection have been cancelled.
4. Is there a Slovak language course available?
STU offers intensive Slovak language courses through the Language center.
- Module Slovak Language Intensive level A1 - B1 fee + registration fee
- Module Intensive Slovak Language level A1 - B2 fee + registration fee

Scholarships for the biggest foreign talents
A scholarship aimed at foreign students applying for bachelor studies at STU, you could earn 4 000 € per year of study, adding up to a total of 12 000 € for three years of bachelor level. An application must be sent by 30.06.2024 (23:59 CET) on the website: https://scholarships.portalvs.sk/. Criterium of results is an SAT test score.
