Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (ICM) is a new action in the European Erasmus cooperation and allows for student exchange from countries outside the European Union to European universities with an Erasmus Charter.
Erasmus+ now offers opportunities for students to study and staff to teach or train in higher education institutions (HEIs) beyond Europe. It also makes the same opportunities available for staff and students from countries beyond Europe to come to participating HEIs in Europe. This is known as International Credit Mobility and is an activity under Key Action 1 Mobility.
Students can apply for:
- study mobility
- traineeships mobility
- short-term mobility for PhD students
For mobilities financed from the calls 2022 and 2023, the minimum duration of study mobility is 2 months. Short-term mobility can last 5-30 days.
Employees may travel for the purpose of:
- teaching for academic staff and for invited staff from non-academic organizations to teach at a partner university abroad
- training, i.e. for the education of pedagogical and non-pedagogical employees in the form of educational events abroad, such as job shadowing, observations and/or training with a partner. This activity is also supported by the mobility of staff from partner country universities for training in a non-academic organization based in the program country.
