Description:
The laboratory is focused on Big Data problems research (processing large text corpora focusing on web data, image data analysis, DNA sequencing). The laboratory is equipped with a computational cluster SMART with 128 cores and disk array with a capacity of 48TB. From the perspective of software used by SMART, it currently offers MapReduce technology, which offers effective processing of big text datasets and MPI technology.
Cooperation: The laboratory cooperates with II SAV (Institute of Informatics, Slovak Academy of Sciences), which owns an identical cluster. These may be linked together in order to gain more processing capacity.
