Description:
Research on fuels is aimed at preparation of nitrate additives, which improve combustion properties (cetane number) of diesel fuels.
To improve of utility properties and analysis of composition is basic orientation of reseach in lubrication field. Antioxidatns and polymeric additives are investigate to improve qualitative properties of lubricants (reology, stability, corrosion)
In the field of secundary resources and wastes the laboratory contribute by work on application of used polymers, crumb rubber and acid sludges to asphalt composition. At the present time the laboratory is specialized to devulcanization of crumb rubber for purpuse of pripering a modified asphalt of high quality. Research of acid sludges processing is aimed at neutralisation and extraction of acid sludge and to reprocessing of the acid sludge into bituminous material. Neutralization of acid sludge (elimination of corrosive properties) is inevitable in the most cases of manipulation with them. The conversion of acid sludge into bituminous material is simple, but this material with this use property is not suitable for independent utilization. So we suggest to use the treated sulphonated wastes as additives during devulcanization of crumb rubber in asphalts so that, the final mixture with asphalts have suitable use property. Catalytic action of acid sludges as the component in asfalt In will bring benefints in the process of crumb rubber devulkanization. In this field is possible to expand devucanization process with new chemical agents and their combinations online in asphalt matrix. Aplication of metal oxides, elements in nano-material forms in conjunction with waste crumb rubber and with organic acides (fatty acids and /or sulfonated petroleum waste – acid sludges) is a new perspective way. Modern technologies are by this way link together with dangerous waste disposal.
We apply analytical methods centered on fuels, feedstocks and heavy products composition. The labotory has Besides gas chromatography also liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry (GC-MS) ldifferential scannig calorimetry and other spectral methods (UV, IR, NMR), are among analytical methods.
