Science & Research at Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava
Slovak University of Technology is research oriented university. During its existence, the university significantly contributed to development of scientific knowledge, enrichment and utilisation of scientific knowledge for the benefit of mankind. The university pursues research in all the areas in which university education is provided, thus in the areas of architecture, civil engineering, geodesy, cartography, chemical technologies, food processing, machinery, electrical engineering, electronics, informatics, information and communication technologies and applied physics, mathematics, economics, social science as well.
Research activities of the university are financially secured mainly by grant projects VEGA, APVV and national science and research programmes. The university also takes opportunity to join European science and technology cooperation programmes, searches for and gains additional financial resources from EU programmes, primarily from the Framework Programme of the EU for research and innovation - Horizon 2020.
Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava recognizes great potential in extension of communication networks supporting transfer of know-how gained at the university to practice. The objective is to find appropriate way of commercialisation and economic valorisation for the ideas born at the university and let these ideas to contribute to development of entrepreneurial environment of sophisticated activities, thereby contribute to increase of prestige of Slovakia at the same time.

STU opened a brand new Centre for Nano-diagnostics
The new Centre for Nano-diagnostics disposes of devices which are unique with the V4 region. They enable to study the structure of materials at the atomic level.
