Hlavným cieľom je vybudovať európsku experimentálnu vzdelávaciu platformu v oblasti jadrovej bezpečnosti
V piatok 28.6.2019 sa na Fakulte elektrotechniky a informatiky STU uskutočnil kick-off míting projektu H2020, ktorý získala STU v pozícii hlavného koordinátora v rámci programu Euratom. Stretnutie úvodným slovom otvoril prorektor prof. Ing. František Uherek, PhD. a riaditeľ Ústavu jadrového a fyzikálneho inžinierstva prof. Ing. Vladimír Nečas, PhD. Hlavným cieľom projektu je vybudovať európsku jadrovú experimentálnu vzdelávaciu platformu (ENEEP), ktorá bude plniť potreby európskych užívateľov s cieľom výrazne zlepšiť ich experimentálne vzdelávanie a praktické činnosti najmä v oblasti jadrovej bezpečnosti a ochrany pred žiarením za účasti všetkých partnerských organizácii, ktoré sú STU v Bratislave, ČVUT v Prahe, TU Wien, Josef Stefan Institute v Ljubljane a Budapeštianska univerzita techniky a ekonomiky (BME).
Univerzitné vzdelávanie jadrového inžinierstva sa opiera o prírodovedné disciplíny. Teoretické prednášky sú doplnené cvičeniami na modelovaných systémov reaktorov pomocou rôznych v súčasnosti používaných kódov. Počítačové simulácie v súčasnosti postupne nahrádzajú skutočné experimenty a na väčšine európskych univerzít sú experimentálne aktivity v oblasti jadrového inžinierstva zvyčajne obmedzené len na niekoľko základných experimentov v rádioizotopových laboratóriách. Bez skutočnej experimentálnej práce a bez praktických skúseností budú budúci jadroví inžinieri vážne znevýhodnení. Experimentálne a praktické skúsenosti sú potrebné na získanie kvalitného a úplného jadrového vzdelávania. Výskumné jadrové reaktory, kritické a podkritické súbory sú najvhodnejšími experimentálnymi zariadeniami na zabezpečenie kvalitného vzdelania v jadrovej oblasti. Uvedomujúc si tieto trendy a ich potenciálny vplyv na kvalitu budúcich jadrových inžinierov Európska komisia vyhlásila výzvu na predkladanie návrhov projektov v rámci pracovného programu Euratomu 2018 o dostupnosti a využívaní výskumných infraštruktúr pre vzdelávanie, odbornú prípravu a budovanie kompetencií.
Cieľovým užívateľom platformy sú študenti univerzít na všetkých stupňoch vzdelávania (bakalársky, magisterský a doktorandský), postdoktorandi, profesori i lektori a mladí odborníci z vládnych a nekomerčne orientovaných spoločností, ako sú úrady jadrového dozoru, výskumné inštitúcie a pod. Platforma prepojí zariadenia, ktoré prevádzkujú partnerské inštitúcie, t.j. štyri výskumné reaktory a rádioizotopové laboratórium a ponúkne rôzne programy vzdelávacích aktivít založené na existujúcich a inovatívnych experimentoch.
ENEEP nadväzuje na koncepciu kurzu Eugena Wignera (EWC), ktorý spájal tri výskumné jadrové reaktory i rádioizotopové laboratória a ponúkal kurzy experimentov z reaktorovej fyziky pre študentov magisterského i PhD štúdia v jadrovom inžinierstve a mladých pracovníkov ústavou pôsobiacich v jadrovej oblasti. EWC prebiehal každoročne od roku 2003 po dobu piatich rokov. Neskôr v roku 2009 štyria partneri projektu ENEEP vytvorili Skupinový vzdelávací program pre výskumné reaktory, ktorý sa realizuje v rámci iniciatívy Východoeurópsky výskumný reaktor (EERRI). Školenia sa vykonávajú pravidelne pre stážistov Medzinárodnej agentúry pre atómovú energiu (IAEA). Doteraz bolo úspešne ukončených 13 kurzov. Šesťtýždňový kurz EERRI je organizovaný v dvoch alebo troch krajinách súčasne s použitím dvoch alebo troch výskumných jadrových reaktorov. ENEEP bude vytvorený na základe doterajších skúseností súčasných partnerov projektu z kurzov EWC, kurzov EERRI, ako aj skúseností z vlastných experimentálnych aktivít v oblasti jadrovej výchovy v plánovanom období od 1.6.2019 až 31.5.2022.
