On August 30, 2018 students of the 9th Professional MBA Automotive Industry Program visited Automotive factory in Nitra.
About the history and future of the company informed the managing director of MATADOR Automotive in Nitra Ing. Ladislav Haberman. Production at Matador Nitra explained Ing. Jan Csaszar, plant manager of Nitra plant. MATADOR, established in 1905, was the leading regional tire producer. Its rubber division business was divested to the joint-venture partner Continental AG in 2007. With establishment of the MATADOR Automotive Vráble in 2005 the focus was shifted towards automotive production to became a TIER 1 supplier.
Ing. Martin Skladan, the chief of maintenance, clarified technical details on presses, aluminum and steel scrap sorting. Furthermore, Ing. Miroslav Mesáros, technical director informed also about activities of the Production Competency Center (PCC BIW Europe) which Matador created with SODECIA Vráble.
Then participants accompanied by all managers mentioned above visited the production site. Excursion finished by workshop and discussion of the participants with the representatives of the company. Students asked about details of the production processes but also about possible cooperation. Within the framework of the ongoing human resources management module, employee-related topics were also discussed.
